Learning to Lead

A team without strong leadership rarely functions well. Amazingly, however, very few people receive any management or leadership training before they are put in charge.

Managers, supervisors, team leaders and leading hands are expected to achieve results by creating a climate and culture that motivates employees to perform.
Many managers and supervisors have been promoted from within based on their technical skills, only to struggle with their leadership role. Recognising this, Australian Training Alliance offers management training and development solutions designed to take managers and supervisors from where they are now, to where they need to be in order to achieve better results through the teams they lead.

What makes us stand out from the rest?

We can assist you in building a confident, capable and consistent leadership team:

  • On-site supervisor training, management training or team leader training for a group of supervisors, managers, team leaders or leading hands.
  • A public seminar where you can enrol yourself or one or two managers and supervisors from your organisation.
  • Flexibility – Depending on your need and budget, we can deliver a single management training or supervisor training workshop or create a comprehensive leadership course covering all the topics you want to see addressed. For multi-shift operations, we can deliver training when and where needed. We make it easy to deliver the skills your leadership team needs with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Focus on the Greatest Need – Your organisation is unique and we can help you determine what makes your managers and supervisors so effective. Subsequently, we can fit our leadership training program to close the gap so the entire management and supervisory team is consistently competent.
  • Utilise Managers as Coaches – We provide coaching notes that your managers can utilise to provide reinforcement during and after the training ends.
  • Focus on Application – After each training session, management and supervisor training participants document what they have applied and the impact it had on their department or work team. This brings greater accountability for your leadership training investment.
  • Sustainability – If you want to make leadership development a process instead of just an event, we can provide regular and on-going development so that your team keeps growing in their management and supervisory role.

Our management programs are designed to help a wide range of people: from those in senior leadership to first-time supervisors.

The Learning to Lead© Program program targets supervisors and managers with a comprehensive overview of quality control, operations, and supervisory principles.

Learning to Lead© Program

Given the broad range of activities performed by the supervisor/manager in any organisation, the Learning to Lead© Program covers and aligns with the competencies contained in the Certificate IV in Frontline Management.

Learning to Lead© program is not just about theory or ‘tick and flick.’ It is about providing the participant with different learning methodologies that provide an interesting, enjoyable and productive approach to maximise learning opportunity. It presents the participant with the appropriate tools to achieve real improvement for the organisation through improve personal and team performance.
The Learning to Lead© Program stretches the participant both personally and professionally. It requires the participant to go beyond management. True leadership involves gaining commitment from those in the team so they understand their part in the organisation’s objectives.
Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.

The Learning to Lead© Program is constructed to look at firstly the general environment in which management occurs and issues faced by managers generally (The Management Environment).
It then looks at the core functions carried out by all managers irrespective of position/organisation (The Management Function). It then narrows down to specific management processes relevant to individual managers and set at a level commensurate with the role of the manager (The Management Processes).
